On the 30th of July we held a meeting with a representative of G4s. the meeting was to address problems with housing, and to put questions and grievances to G4s.
the group had a chance to relate their experiences about problems in housing run by G4s. Andrew Gray from G4s had the chance to answer questions and listen to the feedback. people discussed problems involving repairs taking forever, inaccessible housing for people with medical conditions. male staff intruding upon female service users.also the complaints procedure was found to be insufficient and not fit for purpose.
5 stone road which is a hostel meant to be an initial accommodation in the short term for 21 days had people being left for more than four months.
it was also discovered that the G4s management had no idea of the bad conduct of their employees.
it was decided that another meeting be arranged as a follow up to the meeting so g4s can tell the Carag group of the improvements they have made.
